My name is Linda Wallen, and I have been a partner in mission with the Faith family since 2018! This fall is the beginning of my third year on Church Council. I am a retired educator; I worked with English Learners from kindergarten through adult in Fairfax, Virginia, the state in which I grew up. I am also a lifelong Lutheran, although I have also worshipped with several other faith communities, as my family moved among various countries in Europe and South America as our children were growing up.
Speaking of which, I have three wonderful children, Mike, Andrew and Maria and two more that I am happy to call mine through marriage, Sandra and Chris. I am the proud grandma/grammy to seven grandchildren, ages 6-28 (3 girls, 3 boys), and one great-grandson, who is five. Many of you have met Lia, my granddaughter from Maryland, who has delighted in spending summers with me here, and has also delighted in helping with our Kids’ Camp. Dylan, Declan, Gavin and Keira, the grandkids here, also show up with me at Faith from time to time, and it is wonderful to have them experience the love of the family of Christ here at Faith with me.
In addition to spending time with my family, I keep busy taking care of my two fur-buddies, Luna and Jackson, reading, enjoying the beauty of God’s great creation through walking and hiking with friends, spending time with a variety of our groups here at Faith, and working with refugee families through Lutheran Family Services.
